Acoustic enclosures are one of the most effective means for containment of excessive noise and for isolation of workers from the noise. Even where silencers are used, these can treat only the air-borne noise. The treatment of mechanical noise from the blower, motor etc. is beyond the scope of the silencer. Thus, in order to achieve low noise levels that are often specified, noise enclosures are required.

A popular application is the line of enclosure for the "six pack" blower silencer package. This enclosure, encloses the blower, motor, drive and both inlet and discharge silencers, providing maximum treatment of noise. A convenient "suitcase" type design has been employed for easy dismantling and access. This economical design can provide noise reductions of 12 to 25 db.
The application of noise enclosures is not confined to blower packages. In fact in most workplaces machinery such as grinders, planers, punch presses, screw machines, drop hammers, radial saws, make excessive noise. A well designed enclosure can help reduce the noise created to acceptable limits.
The Stoddard Acoustic enclosures are designed to satisfy customers specific needs. Noise Enclosures can be supplied with windows or inspection panels and cooling fans together with sound traps for hot air dissipation.
If your need is for an enclosure, whether it is an enclosure for the "six-pack" system or a special design for your equipment, application engineers at Stoddard Silencers will be able to assist you.
